Curious to see how the organizers of Huling Hiriit sa Tag-Init beach volleyball and bikini-open competition are reacting to the slight drizzle that has threatened the evening pageant last Saturday at Poctoy Beach. The beach volleyball was still going on with many people watching it, and some 50 meters away the contestants and coordinators were busy rehearsing for the pageant on a mobile stage and nobody seemed to care about the weather.
But what caught my eye was the extremely low tide at Poctoy Beach that I had never seen before. What seemed like a green carpet of tiny seaweeds have inhabited the rocks beneath and were now exposed.
I was told that extremely low tide such as this one happens only a few times a year and lasts from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The locals look forward to them as a lot of sea life is uncovered - octopus, squids, eels, varieties of isdang bato, rockfish and snails for anyone just to pick up and take home for dinner.

Bevy of beauties and some pose for digital and cellphone cams.
Lighter moments after the pageant.
