Whole day livelihood seminar workshops organized by the Office of the Representative of the Lone District of Marinduque in cooperation with the six municipalities of Marinduque were held from February 10-12, 2011.
The seminars attended by participants from various barangays in the municipalities covered training workshops in cosmetology, hair-trimming, basket weaving and technology transfer on pig-raising with meat processing. Part of a livelihood training programs sponsored by Congressman Lord Allan J. Q. Velasco, this activity was attended by some 250 beneficiaries.
Mayor Senen Livelo of Mogpog, Mayor Percival Morales of Sta. Cruz and Congressman Velasco graced the activity together with other municipal officials. A select group of trainors and speakers from Manila and nearby provinces conducted the seminar workshops supervised by the private group, Guardians Tigers Contingent, Inc. and a National Livelihood Development Corporation, a government-owned corporation providing microfinancing for livelihood programs.
